Arrest made following cat deaths investigation in Orangevale


An 18-year-old was arrested Tuesday following an investigation into cat deaths in Orangevale, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. (Video above: Top headlines for Oct. 26)On Sept. 7, deputies responded to the 9400 block of Deanna Avenue in Orangevale for reports of two cats that had been stolen. The person who called authorities told deputies she had video of a person entering her property twice. Officials said the video showed the suspect harming one of the cats, then stealing the other cat. One of the cats never returned and the other was found dead nearby. After an investigation, 18-year-old Colin Lendewig was arrested on cruelty to animals and petty theft charges. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. Lendewig was released Tuesday, according to jail records.Anyone with further information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 916-874-5115.
