Therapy donkey Legacy was among those creatures great and small to be
recognised at RSPCA
WA’s Animal Welfare Awards today.

The awards held on World Animal Day are an important celebration of the
efforts of the people and organisations improving the lives of animals from
around Western Australia.

This year’s ceremony saw 43 awards handed out, including a category just
for our four-legged friends- with a horse, a donkey, a three-legged lamb and
seven dogs all recognised.

The work of the organisations represented is of immense importance to
our animals and our communities and I would like to congratulate RSPCA WA for
recognising this effort.

The McGowan Government shares your desire to see all animals receive
appropriate standards of care, investing more than $9.3 million in animal
welfare related initiatives- including modernising animal welfare legislation.
