Ranbir Kapoor’s latest outing, the action-packed crime drama ‘Animal,’ has stirred both triumph and controversy in equal measure. Despite the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial’s substantial commercial success, it hasn’t been immune to criticism for certain scenes and dialogues. However, Siddhant Karnick, who plays a pivotal supporting role in the film, stepped forward to defend its cinematic stance, emphasizing its intent as pure entertainment.


In an interview with Mid Day, Karnick, portraying the character of Varun Pratap Malhotra, addressed the film’s darker aspects, remarking, “The film has put across a dark character in a very stylized format. In no way are we indicating glory in being a dark character.” He clarified that ‘Animal’ adopts a stylized narrative treatment, accentuating the protagonist’s complexities within the storyline.Karnick firmly asserted that ‘Animal’ is a work of fiction created solely for audience amusement. He underlined that both Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Ranvijay and his portrayal of Varun exist in a fictional realm within the film, conceived with the primary aim of entertaining cinephiles.

Expressing admiration for Ranbir Kapoor’s professionalism, Karnick proclaimed his newfound fandom for the actor in an interview with Pinkvilla. “I am a fan of his professionalism,” Karnick exclaimed, lauding Kapoor’s dedication to his craft. Despite the polarizing reception of his character as Ranbir’s on-screen brother-in-law, Karnick humorously acknowledged being dubbed ‘the jijaji one should never have’ by fans, taking it as a compliment amidst the audience’s vehement reactions.

‘Animal,’ boasting a star-studded ensemble including Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and more, surged into theaters on December 1 alongside ‘Sam Bahadur,’ clinching a triumph at the box office.
