Diana Penty stresses importance of animal adoption with PETA India’s campaign

Diana Penty, who is a true blue animal lover, has joined hands with PETA India and World for All to promote the adoption of dogs from animal shelters and streets. She urged the importance of adopting dogs and cats, instead of buying them from pet shops and breeders.

Diana Penty, who has an adopted indie dog named Vicky, voiced the struggles cats and dogs on the streets have to go through, to survive each day. She also added that adopting Vicky was the best decision of her life. “Adopting Vicky was the best decision of my life, and I can tell you from experience that Indie dogs are a delight! They’re loving, playful, intelligent, and resilient”, Diana Penty said. The ‘Cocktail’ actress often shares pictures with her furry friend Vicky.

She further added, “My friends at PETA India and I are asking everyone who has the time, space, resources, and a lot of love in their hearts to help give an animal a new life by adopting one from the street or from a local shelter.”

Diana Penty also posed with Biscuit, a ‘paw’esome dog who is up for adoption! “If you have the time, the patience, the resources and a lot of love to give, then please do consider adopting rather than buying, because you can really help to make a difference.”

She further added, “I think one of the biggest issues is traffic and them getting injured and hit by cars, bikes and buses. It’s really sad, but whatever we can do to help would be a great help. If that means helping to feed them, leaving bowls of water for them, especially through the hot summer months, getting them medical help when required. If you ever see a dog or cat on the street that’s in distress, I would suggest calling your local veterinarian or even a local animal shelter or an organization like PETA, who will definitely come to your aid and assist you.”

PETA India also highlighted the downside of buying ‘Pedigree’ dogs, the animals who are purposely bred to have certain exaggerated physical traits, such as small noses and drooping backs, making them especially susceptible to many health problems, including breathing difficulties, hip dysplasia, heart defects, epilepsy, and eye and ear infections.
