Trisha Yearwood stepped out for an appearance in Nashville, and her fans are here for it. The country music star, who just returned from performing with her husband Garth Brooks on his stadium tour, took time to honor one of country music’s greatest stars.
Trisha was on hand to help induct Patsy Cline into the Music City Walk of Fame. Like the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Nashville version has stars in the sidewalk honoring musicians and other people with a connection to Nashville’s recording industry. Trisha was inducted herself in 2015.
Trisha posed alongside Patsy’s daughter, Julie Fudge, who accepted the award in her mother’s honor. For the event, Trisha wore black pants, a black top with animal-print sleeves (we found a similar shirt on Amazon for less than $25), and a very special accessory: a necklace given to her by Patsy’s family.
Trisha wrote, “Today I had the privilege of inducting Patsy Cline into the #MusicCityWalkofFame. It was honor to share this moment with her daughter, Julie, and celebrate one of the most influential vocalists in country music and beyond. Life is crazy… (Look closely and you’ll see one of my most treasured gifts from the Cline family…a necklace that Patsy wore!)”
Fans flooded Trisha’s comments section with supportive messages.
- “That is so amazing!!! Also love your shirt!”
- “The gift of the necklace is sweet. What an honor to be able to induct her into the music city walk of fame. She is a legend. “
- “What an awesome privilege for you to do the induction … the necklace? Priceless! “
- ” Long overdue. I’m sure you made it very special. . PS the necklace is beautiful!!”
Many fans were surprised to find that Patsy, who died in a plane crash in 1963, was just now receiving this honor. The singer was a pioneer in the country music industry, and her hit song “Crazy” is one of the greatest of all times. She was the first woman to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and was also awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously.
Regardless of the reason for the delay, fans are thrilled to see Patsy receive this honor, and for her to be celebrated by Trisha.
