Peren, January 21 (MExN): The College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, Peren has received recognition from Veterinary Council of India, New Delhi.
A press release received here stated that since inception, college authorities were pursuing for the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) recognition. The College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry in Jalukie was established in 2016 and till date, two batches of students (50) have graduated.
A decision to this effect was taken during the 69th meeting of the VCI wherein report of its executive committee was considered and the degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry granted by Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur in respect of its constituent College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, Peren, Nagaland was recommended for inclusion in the First Schedule to the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (52 of 1984).
Thereafter, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, GoI notified vide gazette notification dated 18th January, 2023 for the recognition of the B.V.Sc and AH qualification w.e.f. December 31, 2021.
‘The Dean of the College, Dr Ingudam Shakuntala after joining the College in May, 2022 has been working in a mission mode to get recognition from VCI, under Vice-Chancellor Dr Anupam Mishra,’ the release stated.
