I am only a few weeks away from the launch of my new book, Bark! The Science of Helping Your Anxious, Fearful, or Reactive Dog, which will be published on October 1st in Canada, the US, and Australia, and on October 17th in the UK.
Bark! is available for pre-order now from all good bookstores, including Bookshop (and UK Bookshop) which support independent bookstores, and Amazon. If you’re local to me, you can also come along to my book launch at Black Bond Books in Maple Ridge on October 5th.
I am really excited to share this with the world. Up to three quarters of dogs have some kind of fear or anxiety, according to research, so there are a lot of dogs and their guardians who need help. I hope that this book will make a difference by showing people how to use kind, humane methods to help their dog.
For me, one of the most fun things about the launches of my previous books, Wag and Purr, was the launch teams. I really loved seeing people’s adorable photos of their pet with the book, and it was fun to chat with people on the team. I will always be grateful to those people who helped me with those launches.
Now I am looking for people who would like to help me with the launch of Bark! Is that you? If so, read on. And if you want to help without joining the launch team, keep reading to see other ways in which you can help.

Other ways to support the book
If
you want to help with the launch but don’t want the commitment of being
on the launch team, there are several ways you can support the book:

- Request the book via your local library
- Review the book on Amazon or GoodReads
- Post about the book on social media
- Tell your friends about the book
The small print
If you’re accepted
to join the Bark! Buddies, you will only receive emails about the launch. I
will not share your email address with anyone else. You can unsubscribe
at any time and leave the Facebook group if you decide you don’t want
to be part of the team after all.
Members of the team are asked to
be friendly and respectful. If anyone doesn’t follow the group rules, I
reserve the right to remove them from the group.
The private
Q&A cannot be used as a private consultation about your own pet and
I’m not able to give advice about pet behaviour over the internet. But
you can bring your questions about dogs!
You do not need to write a review of the book to be entered into the prize draw.
The
draw for the two prize packs will take place on November 15. I will email
the winners, who must reply with their mailing address within 7 days of
my email. If anyone fails to reply during that time, I’ll draw another
winner. You can also supply your mailing address when you apply to join the team, so that I can send you a thank you card later. The winner is responsible for any duties and taxes that may be
due on the package, which will ship from Canada.
Thanks for your interest in the Bark! Buddies.
