This is our newcomer Itchy. He is a greek hunting dog and seems still young. His story is very sad.
2 weeks ago a couple came to our ACT employee Sophia in the night. They had Itchy with them. He was sitting in the car shivering and huddled up.
The couple took him from a hunter who didn’t want him anymore. He told them either they take him or he would kill him. As a result, the couple immediately took Itchy. Unfortunately, they could not keep him themselves because they already have many dogs. So they brought him to us.
Itchy is still very scared. The first few days he just cowered in a corner. As soon as we enter the enclosure he starts barking and hiding.
We hope that with time he will gain some trust in us. For this, we often sit with him in the enclosure at feeding time and hope that he will get used to us and we can take away his fear.
Before we can find a home for Itchy, we still have to help him to realize that there are also very loving people in the world.
