Triptii on intimate scene in ‘Animal’: Every 5 minutes, Ranbir was…| Exclusive

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ has been breaking all the records at the box office. The film, which is inching closer to hitting the Rs 900 crore mark in the next two weeks, features Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri in important roles. Amid much love and appreciation, Triptii Dimri’s intimate scene with Ranbir from the film emerged online and in no time it created a huge chatter across all social media platforms.

Triptii plays the role of Zoya in the film and her performance has been applauded by the critics and audience alike. During her recent interaction with IndiaToday.in, the actor got candid about her much-talked-about intimate scene with Ranbir Kapoor and revealed how her co-star was supportive while shooting the sequence.

TRIPTII ON HER INTIMATE SCENE WITH RANBIR

While discussing the intimate scene, the actor mentioned how she was informed about the scene on the script level itself. “While signing the project, Sandeep told me that there’s a scene and I want to shoot it this way, but I will make it look aesthetically amazing. I want to create a Beauty and the Beast kind of image. And this is what I have. I leave it up to you, whether you’re comfortable or not comfortable, you let me know, we’ll work around it is what he told me.”

The ‘Qala’ actor further stated, “So, when I saw the references, I was like ‘wow, it’s an important moment between the two characters. That made me comfortable. Also, on set, you need to be completely honest, you must leave yourself aside and be that person. For that, even the environment matters a lot. How people around you are making you feel, whether they’re making you feel comfortable or not, that matters a lot.”

RANBIR KEPT CHECKING UP ON ME

Having said that, Triptii shared that Ranbir and Sandeep made sure that she was comfortable doing the scenes. She also mentioned Ranbir coming and checking up on her every 5 minutes to ensure that she is not feeling awkward.

“And luckily, in my case, I’ve been dealing with whether I was doing the rape scene in Bulbull or this one, they kept asking me if I am okay. They also ensured that there were no more than 5 people, including the director, the DOP, and the actors during the scene. Nobody else was allowed on set, all the monitors were shut, and they were like, ‘this is the scene we are doing. If at any point you feel you’re uncomfortable, let us know. We’ll go at your pace.”
She added, “Every five minutes, Ranbir was checking up on me and asking, ‘are you okay, are you comfortable?’ I think these things really matter. People are sensitive to these things.”

The actress explained, “I’m sure the audiences who’ve not seen how things are done honestly must wonder how they can perform such a scene in front of several people but people who make films are extremely sensitive about it. I was made to feel very comfortable. So, there was not like not even one per cent of awkwardness.”

APPRECIATION FOR PLAYING ZOYA

Other than her viral intimate scene, Triptii has been receiving spectacular reviews for playing Zoya so amazingly. Speaking about the appreciation she has been receiving, Triptii told IndiaToday.in, “When I had discussions with Sandeep sir for the character, he told me that this is a negative character, but I don’t want you to show the negative side of her but instead, people should see the innocence in her.”

She continued, “I want people to see love for this person in Zoya’s eyes, and your entire motive with what you’ve come to him must be internal. And that is one thing that excited me. I knew this was going to be challenging and I wanted to do it. I’m glad that people have seen that in Zoya. While I was performing on set, I was like I’m giving her 100%, I’m doing it with honesty, but I don’t know whether I’m going the right way. Because it’s difficult for you to judge your character when performing. I’m happy that people have been able to catch that. So that is one compliment that made me very happy.”

‘Animal’ released in theatres on December 1. It clashed with Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur.’
