Baby animals could have you saying âdâawwwâ all day long. Now, a new study ranks the infant animals that humans love the most. Wildlife tour operators Explore Worldwide used eye-tracking technology to track which of the worldâs baby animals caught the attention of the human eye the most.
How does it work?
The study analysed participantsâ eye movements as they looked at images of 80 different baby animals from countries all around the world. The study tracked which species held the participantsâ gaze the longest (fixation), and also which baby animal the participants kept returning to look at (number of fixations).
Which baby animals are the cutest?
As per the study, the Indian Rhinoceros topped the list, drawing a humanâs gaze 104 times and holding it for 34 seconds. The largest population of the greater one-horned rhinoceros is found in India, with Kaziranga National Park in Assam being home to 70% of them.
The royal Bengal tiger ranked #14 on the list. The highest population of Bengal tigers in India reside in Madhya Pradesh.
