DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — With warmer months ahead, the Vermilion County Animal Shelter is asking for help.
The shelter’s adoption manager Kathleen Orcutt said spring is prime breeding time for stray pets, and she’s especially concerned about cats and kittens. They’ve already got a couple of litters brought to the shelter.
Orcutt said every donation helps, whether it’s money or even cat and kitten food.
“It’s strenuous and it’s tough,” Orcutt said. “It’s exhausting, and I know that everybody in the rescue community, we don’t do it for the money. We do it for the animals. But I think that everybody in rescue right now is really tired and exhausted.”
She said people can also volunteer, adopt or foster to help with the influx.
