DENISON, Texas (KTEN)—The Denison city pound is at full capacity and cannot take in any new animals. If they are unable to free up space, they will have to begin euthanizations.
The Denison Animal Welfare Group is also at capacity and seeking fosters and adopters for relief.
“Fosters are essential, they’re lifesavers for us,” DAWG president Stephanie Phillips said. “If people can keep an animal for a week or two, that frees up room for us to save ones that are in danger of being euthanized.”
The Denison pound only has enough room for 22 dogs, and sends animals to DAWG for adoption when they fill up. DAWG provides all supplies needed for potential foster families, and foster pets are spayed or neutered and vaccinated before being sent out.
