VIENNA TWP., Ohio (WKBN) — The Animal Welfare League in Trumbull County needs your help.
Overnight, the humane society took to social media saying they’ve been extremely busy over the past two weeks. During that time, AWL humane officers have removed 35 cats, 7 dogs and a horse from horrific conditions.
They say many of these animals were left abandoned. They say several of the cats and kittens were found suffering from severe upper respiratory infections and general neglect.
Due to the large intake, the organization is welcoming anyone to give what they can.
Saturday will be the organization’s first open house volunteer orientation. It will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the shelter, located at 812 Youngstown-Kingsville Road SE in Vienna. There is no need to schedule or sign up — everyone is invited.
AWL is also asking for volunteers to become foster families for animals. Those interested can contact 330-539-5300 or email community@awltrumbull.com to get more information.
You can also donate food and drop it off, or you can shop from AWL’s Amazon and Chewy.com wishlists.
