DULUTH, Minn. — Thanks to grocery shoppers in the Northland area, Animal Allies received a generous donation of over $25,000 Thursday.
Miner’s Super One Foods hosted a fundraising campaign from May 3rd to May 20th. All to raise money for animal shelters. Each store location was able to choose a shelter in their area as part of National Pet Month. This is the annual second campaign for Animal Allies.
“Expressing our gratitude for all of our customers who have been so generous and helpful with the register campaigns and clicking that donation option at check out. Every transaction that gets rounded up or just donating one dollar really adds up to make a really significant impact for non-profits in our area,” said Susie Marshall, Digital Media Manager for Miners Inc.
When summer hits Animal Allies starts to see more kittens and puppies. So, the added funds are especially beneficial this time of year.
“This money is going to go right to our daily mission of just helping pets in our community and that’s everything from the food, the litter, the supplies we go through, the medical care they get. So, again these donations go directly to the animals and are super important to our mission,’ said Nicole Facciotto, Humane Education Manager for Animal Allies.
Animal Allies is hosting the Walk for Animals event on Saturday from 9am to noon at Bayfront Festival Park. It is another way to give back to their organization and the pets at it.
