‘Strut Your Mutt’ fundraiser animal society gives dogs chance to dress to impress – Daily News


Best Friends Animal Society held a fundraising dog walk  — called “Strut You Mutt” — on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Warner Park in Woodland Hills.

The event included contests for dogs for the best costume, best kisser and best trick. Participants were able to visit the “Pooch Pavilion” to ask a question from a veterinarian and a dog trainer. Fun photos at the “Smooch Your Pooch” photo booth and a prize wheel to spin for fun giveaways were added attractions for the morning event.

Comedians Julia Austin and Galina Rivera stepped up as the masters of ceremonies. And pet adoption advocate and actress/podcaster Lauren Ash gave a talk for the cause.

Best Friends in Los Angeles has a cat and dog adoption center, a kitten-care center and a spay/neuter clinic at 15321 Brand Blvd., in Mission Hills. Information: 818-643-3889.

Best Friends Animal Society is a national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters, according to the organization’s website. The organization works with rescue groups, shelters and supporting members across the United States.
