COFFEE CO., ALA. (WDHN)—We are following developments in the trial of a Coffee Springs man accused of shooting and killing dogs, and then tossing them off a coffee county bridge last May.
The trial has been delayed until early next year.
Michael Kelley is alleged to have thrown the animals off a bridge on Coffee County road 655, near the Geneva County line.
Shortly after the 45-year-old’s arrest on a misdemeanor charge of cruelty to animals,
He was released on a six-thousand dollar bond.
Prior to the scheduled start of the trial today, the presiding judge along with the defense lawyer and prosecutor agreed to move the case to the Coffee County docket in January of next year.
